If I were in charge of Brooklyn College new media I would utilize the original Facebook idea and have a social media network exclusively with Brooklyn.cuny.edu logins. This site would create for a smaller world at a large commuter school. Events would be posted, unfamiliar faces would now be familiarized and even teachers could interact posting class changes and announcements.
This concept would create a culture at BC that does not currently exist. This would help clubs recruit new members, Greek life promote social gatherings and athletics to create more of a fan base in local games.
Although this concept is being used heavily on Facebook, having an exclusive Brooklyn college Facebook would unite students and faculty members unlike ever before.
